Interactive Notebook
You are responsible for keeping and maintaining an interactive notebook for class this year. This notebook will be your "life-line" to class. (Most of my tests are open note!) We will work in your notebook nearly everyday. This notebook will keep your notes, charts, foldables, and any supplementary information needed for class. Notebooks will be kept in my classroom for storage. I have found keeping the notebooks in my class to be extremely beneficial for both students and myself.
Your notebook will be treated as a major project for grading purposes. It is my goal to grade these notebooks at least twice per grading period. For grading, I will check 4 pages (3 pages of your choice and 1 of mine). It is important that you put effort into this notebook, as much of your grade will come from the work you do in it. I encourage you to color (with color pencils), draw, and write down important class notes. The pages you will want to show me will need to be NEAT and ORGANIZED and demonstrate your abilities as well as your engagement/participation in class.
I also reserve the right to randomly check notebooks at my discretion. This is to make sure you are doing what needs to be done in class.
I will also be completing an interactive notebook with you. This is for students to use and copy when they are absent from class and to make sure your notebook if properly aligned. The button at the top, will give you access to a table of contents. It is your responsibility to make sure your pages align with mine. In other words, are the pages and numbers from my notebook the same as your's? Additionally, I will scan in copies of my pages. Scanned images will be embedded in the description part of the spreadsheet.
